Welcome to Philly Greys, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming greyhounds. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for these gentle, loving dogs and to promote their welfare through education and outreach. Our organization was founded in 2005 by a group of dedicated volunteers who saw a need to help greyhounds in the Philadelphia area. Since then, we have rescued and rehomed hundreds of greyhounds and have become a trusted resource for those seeking information about this special breed.
What We Do:
At Philly Greys, we rescue greyhounds from a variety of situations, including retired racers and those who have been surrendered by their owners. Our volunteers work tirelessly to provide these dogs with medical care, food, and shelter, and to find them loving forever homes. We also provide support and resources to our adopters and the community at large, including information on responsible pet ownership, greyhound-specific health issues, and the benefits of adopting a retired racing greyhound.
Our Team:
Our team is made up of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about greyhounds and their welfare. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and contribute their time and skills in a variety of ways, from fostering and transporting dogs, to fundraising and event planning. We also have a dedicated board of directors who oversee the organization and make important decisions about our policies and programs.
